About The Position

Provides programmatic and operational support to serve the multifaceted needs of students studying and interning abroad. Manages the flow of communication between students, the Global Education Office, other offices at Marymount, faculty, academic advisors, and international partners. Provides support in marketing and outreach for study abroad programs to maximize student enrollment and retention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree – preference for a Master’s degree in international education, higher education administration, or a related field
  • 1 to 3 years of program coordination experience; working in Higher Ed a plus.
  • Experience studying, working, and/or living abroad.
  • Ability to thrive and adapt in a demanding team-oriented work environment with changing demands and priorities, while managing a variety of complex and overlapping tasks.
  • Excellent oral and written skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of students, parents, faculty, and university administrators in order to facilitate a successful education abroad.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students with the application and selection process and act as the liaison with partner institutions in their designated region regarding student support and service
  • Organize recruitment and cross-cultural programming for education abroad programs, communicate with program representatives and partner institutions, and resolve curricular issues in cooperation with students and their academic advisors
  • Guides students on the selection of appropriate education abroad programs with regard to academic, intercultural, personal, and professional goals
  • Advises students on the application process and logistics
  • Reviews and processes student applications
  • Conducts information sessions and group advising for prospective students on programs in their assigned portfolio
  • Provides support and addresses disciplinary, emotional, or physical issues with students to ensure preparedness to participate
  • Conducts general and region, country, and program-specific orientations
  • Communicates with academic advisors in order to assist students as they coordinate approvals for Marymount academic credit for their education abroad coursework and facilitate initial steps in the final award of credit transfer
  • Provides comprehensive support services to students abroad including advising and assistance in resolving issues relating to cultural adjustment, housing concerns, academic expectations, program policies, etc
  • Responds to inquiries from parents/families, faculty, and staff on student-related matters
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
