About The Position

The Global Demand Planner II responsibilities encompass all the functions of sales forecasting associated with specific product categories across our industrial, retail, and international businesses, spanning over a global network of distribution centers. This position is responsible for continuously improving the forecasting process and most importantly its accuracy, by facilitating the dialog with key corporate counterparts to drive the procurement and production / manufacturing processes of finished goods and raw materials in multiple different stocking setups (make to stock, make to order, etc.). This position directly impacts customer service and the company cash flow. This role will make decisions based on global / regional business priorities to optimize supply and revenue opportunities while contributing to long-term strategic business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or supply chain related field
  • 1-3 years’ experience in demonstrating results in forecast management activities; preferably in a manufacturing/procurement environment focused on demand/supply alignment, process improvements and analysis to achieve results
  • Empowered to make decisions on behalf of the business
  • Demonstrated improvements in forecast accuracy
  • SAP MRP, ERP planning software experience preferred
  • Excellent skills in BI tools, Excel, PowerPoint; MS Access a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, with advanced written and presentations skills
  • Strong interpersonal & analytical skills with the ability to influence without authority, gain buy-in and drive consensus with the ability to collaborate with a diverse population
  • Strong organizational skills and proven experience in developing / managing processes in a fast-paced business
  • Proven ability to articulate business requirements and formulate concise solutions to complex problems
  • Willing to travel up to 20%

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregations of a channel for 12+ month periods to support the S&OP/IBP process, based on historical trends, demand drivers and/or business stakeholder’s knowledge
  • Responsible for the majority share of category make-up in terms of revenues & SKU count
  • Support the product portfolio activities such as product life cycle management and buying strategies in conjunction with Product Marketing Team
  • Lead demand meetings resulting in the creation of a consensus-based constrained and unconstrained sales & unit volume plan; ensure to document demand drivers and assignable causes to demand changes each period
  • Develop and maintain a unit forecast for the assigned product categories at multiple levels of aggregation, leveraging assumptions from Sales, Account Planning, Product Marketing, Finance and Supply Planning
  • Perform consistency checks against targets; communicate the plans to key stakeholders in line with S&OP calendar and escalate gaps
  • Responsible for the alignment of the plan to known manufacturing constraints
  • Prepare agenda and materials and lead the monthly consensus review with Sales, Strategic Account Planners, Finance, and Product Marketing; ultimately responsible for the item-level plan in the event of lack of consensus
  • Monitor the performance of the plan, especially ongoing demand and inventory needs for strategic items
  • Leverage performance metrics, coordinate activities to reconcile the significant variances and update plans, where applicable
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders
  • Provide relevant input for the executive S&OP/Integrated Business Planning meetings
  • Act as a change agent to drive process improvements
  • Support Ad-hoc reporting/analysis requests
  • Ensure business process documentation remains in line with the latest business practices
