About The Position

As a senior member in the Global Customs & Transportation Organization, lead enterprise-wide transportation and customs services sourcing. The leader is accountable for understanding complex business needs, driving data- and process-led procurement and supplier management, and delivering effective cost management and cost-out across the global transportation and customs network.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of logistics, customs or procurement experience) + minimum of 5 years logistics, customs or procurement experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and coach a global team in alignment with GE Aerospace leadership standards, fostering high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Represent GE Aerospace in sourcing-related activities with the Global Shippers Association (GSA).
  • Collaborate with the GSA President and Mode Leaders to advocate for GE Aerospace needs and maximize value and performance from the association.
  • Build and sustain strategic partnerships with key transportation and customs service suppliers to drive innovation, performance, and long-term value creation.
  • Own global governance of transportation and customs procurement policies and procedures.
  • Drive risk reduction in alignment with functional risk management processes.
  • Champion regulatory, policy, procedural, and EHS compliance across the logistics services supply base.
  • Oversee global monitoring of GE and non-GE shippers’ procurement behaviors to ensure conformance with routing instructions and service level requirements.
  • Ensure consistent utilization of discounted, strategic, and contracted transportation suppliers.
  • Lead the global statement of work (SOW) process and commercial negotiations with transportation and customs service providers.
  • Ensure all contracts are current and that terms and conditions comply with Legal, Compliance, ITC, Tax, and other functional requirements.
  • Own commercial administration, including terms and conditions, bid packages, RFQ/RFP/RFI processes, data analysis, supplier selection, implementation, and timely contract renewals.
  • Lead enterprise-wide, commercially focused cost-out strategies to meet and exceed annual cost, productivity, and budget targets.
  • Gather cross-business growth priorities and supply chain changes to shape supplier strategies that support emerging and future business needs.
  • Lead supplier performance metrics within the operating system to drive problem solving and continuous improvement, focused on reducing shipment cost, shortening processing cycle time, and enhancing quality, productivity, and service capability.
  • Develop and lead the business review process across the supply base, aligning suppliers to FLIGHT DECK practices and expectations.
