About The Position

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Global Controller to join the Data Center Power and Control Division on the Starline Team in Canonsburg, PA . What Will You Do? Lead and manage the completion of monthly/annual financial closing activities, including review/approval of related journal entries, specialized accounting matters (ie, foreign currency/CTA, commissions, transfer pricing, provisions), account reconciliations, etc., for all Starline locations. Oversee Credit & Collections team activities, including the establishment of processes related to customer credit limits, collection guidelines, and customer payment applications. Oversee Accounts Payable activities, including vendor payments (inventory and non-inventory related), invoice management & processing, and employee reimbursements. Oversee Payroll-related activities, including internal processes, relationships with 3rd party payroll providers internationally and domestically (leveraging LNCA resources). Oversee all domestic and international tax matters, including Income, Sales & Use, GST/HST, VAT, audits, etc., leveraging Legrand Tax resources as needed. Oversee external accounting/tax partner to assist in developing and maintaining appropriate processes to comply with local requirements for international operations. Lead efforts to monitor and complete internal control self-assessments, internal audits, statutory audits, balance sheet reviews, corporate compliance, and other related activities. Oversee access to and use of the ERP system, support the implementation and use of appropriate processes within the application. Lead in the hiring, development, and maintenance of a staff of finance/accounting professionals designed to support the needs of a growing and expanding organization. Assist in managing banking relationships, leveraging Legrand Treasury resources as needed. Exercise independent judgment and have the ability to appropriately handle complex and confidential data.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance.
  • 15+ years of relevant accounting experience, including oversight of international operations, with a minimum of 7 years as a Controller or similar position.
  • Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Excellent interpersonal, oral presentation, and written communication skills; professional presence and behavior.
  • Ability to operate/work in a high-growth & entrepreneurial environment.
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers, the internet, and the MS Office suite of software, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and leverage additional resources as needed.
  • Ability to prepare, analyze, and interpret financial and operations analyses/reports.
  • Broad general product and business knowledge to adequately interpret operating results, studies, and analyses.
  • Ability to assess complex business situations and respond by communicating/explaining to financial and non-financial managers alike, their implications, as well as to evaluate the initiatives/options available.
  • Drives business performance and challenges the status quo … continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to earn the respect and trust of peers, seniors, and subordinates.
  • Experience in developing and implementing business plans.
  • Strong technical competence in financial control and costing, particularly as it relates to manufacturing.
  • Understanding of and proficiency in US GAAP and international accounting standards, and good comprehension of internal control requirements.
  • Ability to multitask and demonstrate flexible and efficient time management, and to appropriately prioritize workload based upon organization or department needs.
  • Demonstrated ability working with minimal supervision and exercising judgment within generally defined policies in developing and implementing strategies for results.
  • Must possess a high degree of professionalism and ability to handle highly sensitive, confidential information.
  • Be detail-oriented, have excellent follow-through, and project management skills.
  • Manufacturing experience in a multi-site, multi-currency environment.

Nice To Haves

  • A CPA licensed professional (in current standing) or an appropriate business MBA certification preferred – significant demonstrated competency in financial and accounting matters might potentially be substituted for those requirements.
  • Syteline (INFOR) ERP experience preferred.
