About The Position

The Global Commodity Leader Instrumentation & Controls (GCL), GVH Nuclear Energy is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies. In this individual contributor role, you will develop and execute long term, commodity strategies for a global supply base, addressing landed cost, geographic footprint, supplier capabilities and capacity to meet business needs. The GCL will work in close partnership with GVH business teams to execute on key sourcing operations business deliverables.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college, university, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in negotiation, sourcing, engineering, finance, commercial, technical, manufacturing, quality, or equivalent discipline.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time as required.
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Nice To Haves

  • Sourcing experience in a high technology and/or highly regulated industry
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and leadership skills
  • Prior experience in production control or planning, sourcing or material control
  • Strong leader capable of working successfully in a matrix organization and as part of a cross-functional team to drive impactful results
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex situations and drive projects to completion, including cost and schedule control
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Suite and Oracle Enterprise Resources Planning System (ERP) systems
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma certification or equivalent
  • Experience working with customers, regulators, and suppliers in the nuclear business
  • Experience with data analysis and analytics tools, including Tableau and Spotfire or equivalent
  • GE Program graduate, e.g., EEDP, OMLP (GE employees only)

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive supplier contractual and strategic relationships to address cost, business risk, and supply continuity
  • Develop negotiation strategies and lead negotiations to achieve stated goals and objectives
  • Drive supplier selection, development, and overall supplier performance management in partnership with business team members and in accordance with the business strategy
  • Drive sourcing initiatives through the development of annual commodity operating plans, including deflation, cycle reduction, project management, Low Cost Country (LCC) sourcing, lean, and cash flow improvement
  • Work closely with the business team, in order to ensure the growth of this business segment by having strategic agreements in place and operating smoothly
  • Interface with the sourcing fulfillment team on issues that arise. Help ensure sound fulfillment processes and clean hand-offs are established and maintained to fulfill aftermarket needs.
  • Interface with the business on issues of forecasting, planning, strategy alignment
  • Ensure supplier compliance with regulatory and technical requirements
  • Interface with customers and regulators as required; ensure sourcing efforts fulfill key customer requirements
  • Support Lean culture by working cross functionally to improve purchasing process and supporting systems
  • Integrate with broader Power Sourcing and Corporate teams for improved processes/efficiency
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned
