About The Position

Finance employees receive, account for, monitor, and design internal controls to safeguard sacred funds (donated confidentially in obedience to God's commandments) for the Church's religious mission under the direction of senior ecclesiastical leaders. The Global Card Administration team must accurately acquire, document, and process payment information for thousands of cards around the world. The timing and accuracy of this information is critical to enable proper accounting of Church funds. The incumbent is responsible for the organization's card management, bank data files and reconciliation, controls, merchant services, and one-time digital payment processes. Performs complex tasks typically following established processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 6 years of related experience
  • Extensive experience with the concepts and principles of one or more related fields or departments
  • Proficiency with bank and church systems
  • Skilled in written and verbal communication
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to resolve complex technical issues
  • Interpersonal skills
  • To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, there may be physical requirements that need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using computer monitors/equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the organization's card management, bank data files and reconciliation, controls, merchant services, and one-time digital payment processes
  • Assists in developing card programs and processes and implementing systems to provide approved card products world-wide
  • Works as a liaison between Church entities and the merchant service providers to ensure that merchant needs of the customers are met, and that approvals and controls are met
  • Provide monthly metrics and Ad-Hoc reports to management, assist in technical analysis
  • Create journal entries as needed
  • Works with vendors to make one-time digital payments (Rapid Pay)
  • Download/upload daily bank data files
  • Completes routine controls
  • Assists reconcilers with incoming bank data
  • Assists in developing card programs and processes and implementing systems to provide approved card products world-wide
  • Resolves complex banking system and process issues related to day-to-day work operations
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with international area office employees and banking partners
  • Manages assigned projects to simplify and improve processes
  • Onboards new work by defining specific process steps, evaluating resource impact, and coordinating the transition of work with international area offices
