The GIS Analyst is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing geographic information system (GIS) data to support planning, operations, and decision-making across the Organization. This role ensures the accuracy, consistency, and accessibility of spatial data, producing maps, visualizations, and analyses that effectively communicate complex geographic information. Key responsibilities include creating, updating, and managing GIS databases; performing data quality assurance; and integrating data from multiple sources to produce accurate spatial analyses and visual outputs. The GIS Analyst prepares detailed maps, reports, and other graphical representations for use by internal departments and the public, supporting both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations. The role also conducts field verification and geospatial data collection to resolve data discrepancies and ensure alignment with real-world conditions. The GIS Analyst works closely with technical staff and stakeholders to ensure GIS data supports project planning, asset management, and policy evaluation. This position requires strong analytical skills, technical proficiency with GIS software, and the ability to translate spatial data into actionable insights. The GIS Analyst plays a key role in advancing data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency across the Organization.
