About The Position

Geocgi is looking for a GIS Analyst II to support our client, Bureau of Indian Affairs in Denver, Colorado. This position provides direct geospatial production and data support for parcel mapping, land status visualization, and trust land administration activities. This position is a hybrid opportunity with the primary performance at the BIA Office of Trust Services (OTS), Division of Resource Integration and Services (DRIS); Bureau of Indian Affairs, 13922 Denver W Pkwy, Lakewood, CO 80401.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen and Active U.S. Passport.
  • 3 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or 1 year of experience with a Master’s degree.
  • Experience performing GIS analysis and data editing in Esri-based environments.
  • Familiarity with parcel, cadastral, or land management datasets.
  • Experience creating and maintaining metadata for GIS projects.
  • Experience creating and maintaining metadata for GIS projects.
  • Ability to follow established workflows and quality standards.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • No DWI’s in the past 10 years and no record of crimes against children.

Nice To Haves

  • GISP, Esri Enterprise, AWS or Azure certifications.
  • Experience supporting federal land management, trust land, or cadastral GIS programs.
  • Exposure to scripting or automation tools for GIS workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Perform geospatial analysis and production tasks to support mapping of parcels, tracts, rights of way, leases, and other encumbrances on trust lands.
  • Implement analytical techniques to resolve recurring, procedural, and factual GIS issues related to DRIS mapping projects.
  • Administer geospatial databases and apply quality control and quality assurance practices within the Esri Enterprise Parcel Fabric environment.
  • Assist with migration and maintenance of land status and Land Area Code data within enterprise GIS systems.
  • Participate on interdisciplinary teams with federal agencies, Regional Geospatial Coordinators, and other BIA divisions.
  • Identify data requirements, assess data compatibility, and locate missing or incomplete information for assigned projects.
  • Develop and maintain metadata for all GIS datasets in accordance with BIA data standards.
  • Apply standardized geospatial tools and workflows used across BIA and tribal GIS programs.
  • Support documentation of procedures and contribute to knowledge sharing within the project team.
