GIS Analyst II
About The Position
The GIS Analyst II provides day-to-day production GIS support for DOI GIS Modernization activities. This role performs recurring and procedural geospatial tasks related to parcel mapping, TAAMS/LAC data migration, spatial analysis, cartographic production, and GIS data maintenance. GIS Analyst IIs support the creation and update of parcel fabric data, assist with fee-to-trust and land description workflows, perform data validation and quality control checks, and develop mapping products and dashboards under the direction of the GIS Analyst III. They participate on interdisciplinary teams with federal GIS specialists and other stakeholders and support initiatives by producing accurate, timely, and standards-compliant GIS deliverables. GIS Analyst IIs operate in a production-focused environment emphasizing throughput, accuracy, and consistency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, or related discipline
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional GIS experience
- Working knowledge of ESRI GIS software and tools
- Experience performing spatial analysis, mapping, and data QA/QC
- Familiarity with geospatial database concepts and metadata development
- Ability to develop basic GIS applications or dashboards under supervision
- Experience working on interdisciplinary teams
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established standards and procedures
