About The Position

Responsible for the purposeful and effective delivery of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) through volunteers to girls across the Hawai`i Council. This position works closely with other Program staff to achieve shared goals successfully.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 4 years equivalent experience in related field such as: communications, nonprofit management, marketing, community development, volunteer engagement and support.
  • Proven experience in organizing and coordinating multiple, diverse groups of people such as volunteers, staff, community organizations and individuals.
  • Personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, and current insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience training adults preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure program experiences are based on the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, customized to address the needs and interests of girls, and meet designated leadership program outcomes.
  • Use national program curricula as the basis to research, design, adjust and source other tools, resources, and state-of-the-art materials that assist volunteers in enriching and customizing the delivery of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE).
  • Act as the ambassador for the GSLE which includes being able to clearly explain what it is, why it is important and can train others in how to deliver the experience.
  • Analyze council data to develop and implement a relevant programs for our council.
  • Create event registration and post onto gsEvents platform. Coordinate and lead groups of participants K-12th grade in a variety of settings.
  • Collaborate with key volunteers and community partners to offer opportunities related to the national program curricula and the GSLE.
  • Identify best practices in program delivery and retention of older girls.
  • Coordinate and support the Take Action and Higher Awards model at the council level which includes overseeing a volunteer committee to identify projects that meet the project criteria, conduct informational workshops for girls and their parents on higher awards and track all projects, hours and outcomes completed by girls.
  • Utilizes social media to promote program opportunities, survey girls and volunteers, create interest in program areas and provide Program support.
  • Serve as a resource for girls interested in Destinations programs (travel).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
