The Senior Associate will be results-driven and assist the Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Gift Shop to help ensure smooth operations, maximize sales, and minimize costs. This role is crucial for enhancing customer satisfaction and involves assisting management in training staff and volunteers in Gift Shop operations. These duties include, but are not limited to, sales, labeling, assistance with inventory control, and merchandising. As a condition of employment, new employees must receive the seasonal influenza vaccine and be willing to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005. Medical and/or religious exemptions can be discussed with Human Resources. A personal interview, formal education and training, previous work experience, references, and a criminal background investigation are all factors used in selection. A drug screen will be performed upon hire. Children’s Mercy is smoke and tobacco free.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and 3-5 years experience OR HS diploma or equivalent and 5-7 years experience
  • Willingness to receive the seasonal influenza vaccine (condition of employment)
  • Willingness to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005
  • Ability to pass a criminal background investigation
  • Ability to pass a drug screen upon hire

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel preferred

Responsibilities

  • Senior Associate assists management in overseeing the daily operations of the Gift Shop
  • Works with the Manager to appropriately train associates and volunteers
  • Assists with marketing and merchandising the Gift Shop to drive sales success
  • Responsible for managing all logo request transfers
  • Assist with online sales management and tracking
