About The Position
Gift Shop Assistant - Part Time The Adrian Dominican Sisters are looking for a part time Gift Shop Assistant for our Weber Retreat and Conference Center located on the grounds of the Motherhouse campus in Adrian, MI. We are a congregation of vowed Catholic women and this position supports the Gift and Book Shop and provides customer service at our retreat and conference center. You will be responsible for: Responsible for the performing activities involved in the maintaining and selling of merchandise at the Weber Center Gift Shop. Hours: 8 hours per week, must have flexibility between the hours of 8am and 4:30pm Wednesday - Saturday. Shifts may vary. Pay : starts at 18.00/hr.
Requirements
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be able to frequently stoop, bend, reach, and carry approximately 35 pounds.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
- At times, it is necessary to move from location to location on campus.
- Being sighted and capable of hearing is necessary.
- Annual influenza vaccination is required for this position.
Nice To Haves
- Experience: Cash register and computer experience preferred.
- Retail experience preferred.
- Familiarity with Catholic traditions and sacraments preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provides personable and patient customer service to guests and co-workers.
- Operates point of sale register.
- Efficiently manages incoming calls, outgoing calls and messages.
- Becomes familiar with the merchandise.
- Assists with shop activities such as Weber on Wheels and Christmas Open House.
- Performs opening and closing procedures.
- Maintains shop when manager is not present.
- Responds appropriately to safety hazards and/or emergencies following written campus procedures.
- Complies with all safety policies and procedures by practicing good safety and health habits while performing duties.
