About The Position

The Surgery Center of Fort Lauderdale is hiring a full-time GI Registered Nurse. They are looking for an experienced team player with good energy who enjoys customer service and performs well with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will provide excellent nursing care, actively participate in and contribute to the management of the Endoscopy Unit, and participate in the maintenance of endoscopes and other specialized equipment. They will also provide technical assistance during endoscopic and non-endoscopic procedures in the OR. The center is a fast-paced ambulatory center with a strong commitment to excellent patient service.

Requirements

Current Florida Nursing License
Current CPR, ACLS
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Minimum 2 years of GI experience in a hospital setting
Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, hospital staff, physicians, vendors and the public
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, openness, receptive to change, creativity and innovative
Ability to adapt to change quickly
Strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient
Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics
Excellent teaching skills
Basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology

Responsibilities

Providing excellent nursing care
