About The Position

Primarily responsible for maintaining the fiber optic equipment, assisting the physicians during procedures, and the general cleanliness of the entire unit. Also performs nursing assistant and receptionist/clerical functions in the Endoscopy Unit, as designated by the Nurse Manager or staff nurse. Functions under the direction of a professional nurse and through frequent contact with patients assist the RN and staff nurses in utilizing the nursing process.

Requirements

• HS graduate or equivalent
• BLS/CPR is required
• Must complete endoscope reprocessing course within the first 6 months of employment
• Good communication skills
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Nice To Haves

• Previous GI Endoscopy experience preferred
• Recent experience in cleaning scopes or surgical instruments preferred
• Basic nursing assistant knowledge preferred
• The ability to manage chemicals associated with equipment reprocessing and environmental cleaning is preferred
• The ability to manipulate small items and accessories delicately in high-stress situations is preferred
