About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: Assists physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic GI procedures. Responsible for care, maintenance, inventory and reorder of all GI related supplies and equipment.

Requirements

Completion of high school or GED.
BLS certification.
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively with others
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to read, write and speak fluent English
Ability to work at a rapid pace under stressful conditions.
Requires knowledge of safety standards to limit exposure to infectious disease and strong chemicals.
In daily contact with body fluids of patients.
Operates, cleans and maintains procedure equipment such as endoscopes, video and microprocessor instruments, biopsy forceps, stints, cautery, etc.
Moves from one area to another within the hospital and/or clinic.
Positions patients, lifts and moves equipment throughout hospital.
Able to serve in limited nursing assistant role in Out Patient Procedure Clinic.

Nice To Haves

Prefer two years post high school education in related healthcare field, preferable in radiology, respiratory or nursing.
Spanish as a second language helpful.
Two years GI lab technician experience preferred, outpatient setting.
