About The Position

The GGL Lending Trainee is responsible for originating, structuring, and managing government-guaranteed loans, including SBA and USDA programs, in alignment with the Bank's credit policies and regulatory requirements. Under the guidance of experienced lenders, this role actively develops new business relationships, evaluates credit requests, prepares and presents loan proposals, and ensures all guaranteed loan packages meet program standards for successful approval and funding. The position serves as a resource to customers, internal staff, and community partners by providing guidance on available government loan programs and delivering exceptional customer service.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Periodically be assigned to other departments (at discretion of manager) to enhance training in all functions of credit.
  • Works closely with Division President and Senior Lender to gain knowledge in United Bank's policies and procedures, including Signature Service.
  • Ensure that each approved application meets the Bank's lending standards.
  • Assist customers with loan questions or problems. Must have knowledge of United Bank products and services in order the match the customers needs.
  • Assist in the day-to-day operation of the Bank including opening and closing of the Bank including Saturdays.
  • Ensure compliance with the Bank's guidelines by obtaining exception approval signatures on loan applications when needed.
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations and laws.
  • Collects on past due loans as well as overdrawn checking accounts that may be assigned to the Lender Trainee.
  • Keep past due loans and collateral exceptions to a minimum as determined by management.
  • Performs community service activities necessary to generate a presence in the community.
  • Maintains current knowledge of industry regulations, requirements, and trends by attending seminars, member associations and reading trade periodicals.
  • Position will be required to comply with all Federal and State banking laws and related regulations, to include but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act.
