About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced lawyer to join our Global Financial Markets (GFM) practice in New York as a Knowledge Lawyer. This newly created role is to support and lead the development and be a key resource to our associates to enhance their technical and commercial skills.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited US law school
  • Admitted to the New York Bar
  • At least six years of experience practicing law, with a focus on transactional matters.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills
  • Ability to create, manage, and update training sessions for associates
  • Experienced in organizing and producing training sessions, briefing and presentation for lawyers and clients on a broad range of legal topics
  • Must be proactive and self-motivated
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation skills
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with other professionals
  • Submissions must include a resume and law school transcript(s).

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and deliver structured training programs to build both legal expertise and commercial acumen among associates.
  • Act as a readily available resource for associates, providing guidance and support on recurring or foundational legal and commercial issues.
  • Work closely with our Talent team to identify and address operational inefficiencies related to associate training and knowledge gaps.
  • Monitor and assess associate progress, identifying further development needs and adapting training accordingly.
  • Facilitate regular feedback sessions with associates to ensure training remains relevant and impactful.
  • Develop, curate, and maintain a comprehensive suite of practice-specific resources, including toolkits, templates, checklists, and precedents.
  • Ensure resources are easily accessible and regularly updated to reflect current market practice and legal developments.
  • Collaborate with lawyers across the firm’s global network to share best practices and contribute to firm-wide knowledge management initiatives.
  • Provide timely updates and guidance to the team and associates via emails, meetings, and training sessions to support their day-to-day activities.
  • Produce thought leadership pieces and practical guidance for associates, including the integration of AI and other innovative tools.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the GFM practice.
  • Deliver tailored induction and training programs for new joiners, ensuring a smooth transition and rapid upskilling.
  • Curate and promote accessible training opportunities and relevant resources to support ongoing associate development.
