Join IMEG’s Geotechnical team in Peoria, Illinois, as a Geotechnical Project Designer, where you’ll lead design efforts for low to moderate complexity projects and collaborate with senior staff on larger, high-impact assignments. You’ll work closely with engineers and consultants to deliver innovative geotechnical solutions for commercial, residential, and industrial clients, utilizing industry-standard tools such as Civil 3D, gINT, LPILE, and DeepEx. Principal Responsibilities Direct and train Geotechnical Designers to complete reports, exhibits, plans, and specifications per project scope. Lead design efforts for civil site projects, creating detailed designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software and IMEG standards. Oversee projects through conceptual, planning, bidding, and construction administration phases. Coordinate and manage geotechnical and construction materials testing project activities. Inspect work, troubleshoot field quality control issues, and provide recommendations for corrections. Interact with clients to gather requirements, communicate technical information, and build strong relationships. Support project execution, planning, budgeting, and scheduling to meet deadlines and objectives. Document design decisions and monitor project progress related to percent complete and fee expended. Analyze engineering problems, propose solutions, and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants. Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices; contribute to research and innovation. Prioritize safety and regulatory compliance; interpret and apply state and local design criteria. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions. Identify potential project problems and seek guidance from the Project Manager.
