Position Purpose Under regular supervision, conducts analysis, pricing and risk assessments to estimate financial outcomes. Responsible for the collection of data, selection of parameters, and calculations involved with conducting actuarial analysis. Act as a steward of data quality by discovering and discussing data anomalies and issues. Note: we prefer that the selected person be based in our Peoria, IL office, but will consider someone working out of our Chicago, IL office.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science or a related field
  • 0+ years of related experience and 1 actuarial exam completed
  • Ability to use analytical methods in actuarial processes to assist in finding workable solutions within the Risk Services department.
  • Ability to communicate findings and recommendations to internal contacts on Risk Services matters.
  • Types of projects include calculating rate change, setup of reserve analysis, validating data and software applications, trend and loss development projects, support rate filings, data extraction, loss ratio analysis, rating/class plan evaluation, experience analysis, allocation of IBNR, smaller due diligence opportunities, frequency/severity analysis, investigate data anomalies, assist with auditing underwriters for effective use and compliance of rules and rating plans.
