WSP USA is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Manager to lead major infrastructure projects in Los Angeles, focusing on TBM tunneling and underground structure design. This role involves managing geotechnical investigations, leading a team of engineers, and ensuring collaboration between various stakeholders to meet project objectives.

  • Serve as a Geotechnical Engineering Manager on major infrastructure projects involving TBM tunneling and underground structure design.
  • Develop and execute geotechnical investigation programs for major water and transportation projects.
  • Lead a team of engineers to provide geotechnical engineering support for new tunnel and shaft design, as well as inspection and rehabilitation of existing tunnels.
  • Prepare bid documents related to geotechnical design, schedule, and cost estimates.
  • Manage collaboration between the owner, geotechnical design team, and contractor.
  • Prepare contract documents and participate in value engineering evaluations.
  • Provide oversight on technical issues related to geotechnical design and construction of underground structures.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 12+ years of relevant post-education experience in Geotechnical/Tunnel Engineering Design and Construction.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) Registration in California.
  • Geotechnical Engineer Registration in California.
  • Advanced proficiency with geotechnical engineering principles and practices.
  • M.S. or PhD in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or Earthquake Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in design and construction of major underground projects.
  • Experience communicating with project stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in leading geotechnical engineering design and construction of large water or transportation projects.
  • Proven experience in preparing contract drawings, specifications, and cost estimates of major infrastructure projects.
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work at project office or site.
