About The Position

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Geotechnical Engineer to join our team supporting our Federal client on a major, multi-$M civil works program located in the Everglades, FL. What You'll Be Doing: On-Site field support to customer/client providing quality assurance services specific to the following definable features of work: earthwork, offshore pipelines, shallow foundations, deep foundations, moorings, and slope stability Responsibilities include providing on site quality assurance oversight of contractors performing construction of heavy civil works projects. Includes planning, reviewing, inspecting and reporting results from soil sampling programs, in situ testing programs, and geotechnical laboratory testing programs.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Sciences or related field.
Requires a minimum of 5+ years of experience in construction and 3 or more years of experience in heavy civil projects involving geotechnical testing and evaluation of soils, drilling and exploration
Experience interpreting soil properties from test results and geological considerations and developing geological reports.

Skilled written and verbal communicator capable of completing daily reports and effectively corresponding with client, end user and construction contractor personnel
Ability to work independently in a field environment overseeing construction contractor activities
Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities
Physically capable of walking over rough terrain and standing long periods of time.
