About The Position

Founded in 1994, Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) is a nationwide leader in geospatial and construction-phase solutions, with over 50 offices and 1,600 professionals. SAM offers in-house capabilities across land surveying, aerial mapping, subsurface utility engineering (SUE), utility coordination (UC), GIS, BIM, and construction engineering inspection (CEI), providing accurate, actionable data for critical infrastructure projects. As a Geospatial Project Manager, you will be instrumental in delivering geospatial solutions for electric utility projects. This role involves leading project planning and execution, managing a team of technicians, and collaborating closely with clients to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, accurately, and on schedule. It combines technical expertise with leadership and client engagement to achieve significant project outcomes.

Requirements

5+ years of progressive experience in photogrammetry, aerial mapping, and/or LiDAR
Proven ability to manage projects, teams, and client relationships
Strong understanding of geospatial technologies, including photogrammetry and LiDAR workflows
Experience with GIS and/or CAD platforms (e.g., MicroStation, Civil 3D, etc.)
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Geospatial Sciences, GIS, Geomatics, or a related field

Responsibilities

Oversee and mentor technical staff to ensure long-term growth of the department
Establish work plans and staffing requirements for multiple projects
Manage projects from start to finish while ensuring our services meet our clients’ needs and quality
Participate in planning and implement procedures and systems to maximize operating efficiency
Develop and manage proposals, budgets, schedules, billings, and contracts
Participate in business development for Geospatial opportunities and maintain strong client relationships
Develop and conduct presentations to clients and other critical stakeholders
Effectively interface with sub-consultants and any other business relationships associated with the Geospatial Services
Provide Geospatial support to other operational units as needed
Support corporate strategic initiatives
Serve as Company representative at meetings and presentations
