As part of Burns & McDonnell, we combine decades of consulting expertise with cutting-edge geospatial technology to address critical infrastructure and business challenges. We are seeking a Geospatial Consultant to provide leadership in GIS analyses, system implementations, and business process improvement. This role will lead geospatial analyses for consulting projects, guide new business pursuits, and ensure technical excellence in project deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in GIS, geography, environmental science, or closely related natural science field. and 8 years experience Required
  • Experience working in the ArcGIS desktop environment is required (ArcGIS Desktop 10.0 or higher a plus).
  • Demonstrated in GIS sales pursuits and proposal developments.
  • Excellent GIS skills, including data analysis abilities.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Utility Network, including data modeling, spatial analysis, and net work configuration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior GPS and applicable natural science field experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and review Geographic Information System (GIS) analyses and data development for client projects.
  • Provide technical leadership for GIS system implementations, configurations, and integrations.
  • Develop technical specifications, project approaches, cost estimates, and schedules for project deliverables.
  • Lead implementation of new geospatial software or programs.
  • Review geospatial studies and analyses for accuracy; present findings to stakeholders.
  • Deliver ad hoc analyses and recommendations to support business goals and client success.
  • Oversee quality reviews of team deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Identify and address client GIS system needs and implement improved business processes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet project objectives.
  • Train, coach, and mentor staff on GIS best practices and solutions.
  • Support proposal development, business development, and client engagement efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, quality practices, and safety policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
