About The Position

Turner Staffing Group is seeking experienced Exploration Geologists to support an active drilling and exploration program at a mining project in the Carlin Trend of Nevada. This is an on-site, project-based role running through the end of the year, offering the opportunity to work on a technically engaging exploration campaign involving both surface and underground geology. This position is ideal for geologists who enjoy hands-on fieldwork, drill program coordination, and contributing directly to exploration success. The role will work closely with geology teams, drilling contractors, and vendors to execute exploration programs safely and efficiently. Schedule 8 days on / 6 days off 10-hour shifts Position Overview The Exploration Geologist will support drilling programs through detailed geological logging, data collection, and field coordination. Responsibilities include logging drill core and RC chips, supporting sampling and QA/QC procedures, and working with drill teams to ensure the effective execution of drill plans. This role requires strong technical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced exploration environment. Responsibilities include logging and interpreting drill data, supporting sampling workflows, and maintaining accurate geological databases to support exploration analysis and modeling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related field
  • 3–5+ years of exploration or mine geology experience
  • Experience with geological mapping and field data collection
  • Ability to work effectively in surface and underground exploration environments
  • Strong attention to detail and technical documentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with drilling teams and vendors
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without work visa sponsorship
  • Ability to work safely in active mining and exploration environments
  • Willingness to work rotational schedules and field-based assignments

  • Experience logging diamond drill core
  • Experience logging RC chips
  • Experience supporting exploration drilling campaigns
  • Familiarity with geological databases and exploration data management systems
  • Experience with geological modeling or interpretation software

Responsibilities

  • Perform geologic mapping in surface and underground environments
  • Log and interpret diamond drill core and RC chips
  • Support exploration and near-mine drilling programs
  • Execute drill plans in coordination with geology teams and drilling contractors
  • Work closely with vendors and drill crews to ensure safe and efficient drilling operations
  • Process drill core including core photography, sampling, and sample preparation
  • Maintain accurate geological and geotechnical logging records
  • Enter geological and sampling data into geological databases
  • Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures for drilling and sampling
  • Assist with geological interpretation and data compilation to support exploration decisions
  • Maintain organized and safe work practices in both field and core shed environments
