The Genetic Counselor: Assesses individual or family risk for a variety of inherited conditions, such as cancer, cardiovascular, and genetic disorders. Offers risk management services. Provides genetic counseling services to pregnant women, couples planning a pregnancy, couples who are at risk for having a baby with genetic condition, or women who have experienced pregnancy loss among others. Recruits patients for high risk assessment programs and facilitates appropriate research enrollment. Provides community outreach and participates in collaborative research projects, program meetings, and program development. Tower Health, a regional healthcare system, serves communities across multiple counties in Pennsylvania. Its network includes Reading Hospital, Phoenixville Hospital, Pottstown Hospital, and St. Christopher's Hospital for Children (in partnership with Drexel University).
