We are now going to the market under one bold new brand, Echo Electric. Echo Electric has an opening for a Generator field repair technician to be based out of our Carrol/Dort Dodge, IA Location. The field technician position involves startup, troubleshooting, repair & maintenance of standby generators and related equipment

Requirements

  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for equipment repair.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including generator repair.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment safely as part of the job requirements.
  • Experience in vehicle maintenance to ensure operational readiness for fieldwork.
  • Familiarity with schematics to assist in troubleshooting and repair processes.
  • Previous experience as a service technician or mechanic is highly desirable.

Nice To Haves

  • Sales skills are a plus for promoting additional services or products to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Generator field position reports to the generator division manager.
  • Provide generator division manager and inside service dept. with information needed to allow the service department to assist with final project services such as: startup, testing, routine maintenance service, and repair work.
  • Perform repairs, startups, troubleshooting & maintenance on standby generator systems.
  • Provide as needed updates to generator team. Make recommended / required repairs known to customer base.
  • Continued Education time to increase knowledge of product line and general knowledge of the power generation industry.
  • Submit required paperwork and reports such as expense reports, quotes, and job status updates in a timely manner.
  • Follow up on projects as needed to help ensure job is delivered, installed and started up in line with manufactures guidelines.
  • Maintain good customer relations.
  • Perform other duties as instructed.
  • Participate in onsite project reviews, open houses, and trade shows as needed.
  • Help inform customers of new products and changes to product offering.
  • Work closely with outside sales staff and Echo generator division team members.
