About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a General Welder - 1st (Transformers) to join our team on Badger Dr. in Waukesha, WI! The hourly rate for this position is $26.20 per hour. The core hours are 7 am - 3 pm. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. The General Welder will operate various types of welding equipment in both Transformer assembly lines for general production work. This may include low voltage welding, welding on stainless and mild steel covers, welding radiators onto the tanks, and using the robotic welder.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of assembly experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year of welding in a manufacturing environment AND/OR completion of a 1-year technical diploma in welding from an accredited institution.

  • Must pass the Eaton General Welding Test.
  • Ability to work overtime when required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 LBS; bend, twist, grab, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, use both hands to lift and lower materials, and perform all other essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

  • Use weld fabrication equipment including plasma arc torch, tig-welder, mig-welders, robotic mig welder, grinders, drills, and any other special tooling that may be required.
  • Work from basic prints, computer readouts, written and verbal instructions and material lists using judgment when complete prints are not available.
  • Operate various types of material handling equipment including bridge cranes, jib cranes, and manually operated hand trucks when necessary.
  • Place both weld-on and bolt-on covers to units - giving them a pressure test using air and soap.
  • Perform Low voltage aluminum and copper welding and mild and stainless-steel cover welding
  • Work in Transformer assembly positions as needed
