About The Position

TPC River Highlands is a private golf club located in Cromwell, Connecticut, and is the proud host of the PGA TOUR’s Travelers Championship. It offers a championship golf course, an exceptional clubhouse for events, and two full-service kitchens, all within a welcoming, team-oriented culture. The General Utility/Dishwasher is primarily responsible for washing and properly storing dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other wares used in food production and service. This role also entails maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization within the kitchen and dumpster areas.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent education

Responsibilities

Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in employee changing room/restrooms, and back-of-the-house employee areas, as well as the elevator, dumpster and receiving area
Empty trash cans from dish room, kitchen and storeroom into appropriate refuge receptacles on a regular basis, ensuring correct supervision for recyclable items
Remove empty boxes from kitchen and storage areas on a regular basis to dumpster area
Keep equipment, floor, and work areas clean, free of slip, trip and fall hazards and in good working order at all times
Clean and sanitize all dishes, pots, pans and utensils in accordance to local guidelines, to ensure proper supply levels to operate Food & Beverage Department efficiently
Assist in the storing of grocery and supply items
Assume responsibility for proper set up and operation of the dish machine, three compartment sink, garbage disposer and chemical dispensing systems. Notify supervisor of any malfunctions
Assume responsibility for supplies for the dish machine and notify supervisor of any instances where there would no product on hand
Assist cooks and the Executive Chef in the preparation of food as needed
Set-up and break-down buffet tables and theme decorations which may include ice displays
Special projects or other duties as assigned
