We're looking for Part-Time Utility Aides/Dishwasher for our Senior Living Community in Washington, DC Wage Rate: $19.48 to $21.53 per hour commensurate with experience. Job Summary: This position is primarily responsible for cleaning and sanitizing dishes and the dish room areas. Additional duties include general cleaning duties and store room duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Incumbent should be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form, possess verbal and written communication skills, be available for all meal periods.
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds or less.

Responsibilities

  • Processes incoming dirty dishes and loads into the dishwasher for proper cleaning and sanitation.
  • Assists in picking up dirty dishes from IL, Health Center and Assisted Living areas and transfers to dishwashing area for cleaning and sanitation.
  • Washes and sanitizes all dishes, pots, and pans per each meal period.
  • Loads all dishes in to the dishwasher with proper soap and sanitizer as set forth by the Chef.
  • Checks dishwasher to ensure cleanliness prior to loading dishes and cleans dishwasher at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Checks dishes, pots, and pans for cleanliness and sanitation and notes of any chips or breaks in the dishes.
  • Fills sink with water and soap to hand wash and china or non dishwasher safe pots and pans.
  • Dries dishes, pots, and pans with appropriate towels or linens.
  • Returns clean and sanitized dishes, pots, and pans to proper location within the kitchen area.
