About The Position

The MetroHealth System was founded in 1837 to serve the residents of Cleveland, Ohio and Cuyahoga County. It is a non-profit, mission-driven institution with 3 hospitals, more than 20 health centers, and 40 additional sites across the county, and is the key public hospital teaching site for Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. MetroHealth is a nationally recognized academic and tertiary referral medical center, with an American College of Surgeons-verified Level I adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma center, as well as busy advanced robotic and endoscopic surgery practices, The MetroHealth Department of Surgery is seeking a Board-certified Urologist to join our Division of Urology. The Division of Urology provides a comprehensive spectrum of urological care, including reconstructive urology, men's health, oncology, and endourology. Our new Director will be responsible for developing and leading a multidisciplinary program of clinical excellence, commitment to medical student and resident education, and serving as a key leader for our integrated urology residency training program.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Urology.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Ohio.
  • Demonstrated commitment to academic medicine, education, and research.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first approach.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimally invasive and laparoscopic techniques; robotic surgery experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive urologic care for adult patients, including diagnosis and management of urinary tract and male reproductive system disorders.
  • Perform a full spectrum of urologic procedures, including: Endoscopic procedures (cystoscopy, ureteroscopy) Stone management (lithotripsy, ureteroscopic stone removal) Prostate interventions (TURP, laser procedures) Basic oncology surgeries (bladder, kidney, prostate) Minimally invasive and laparoscopic techniques; robotic surgery experience preferred
  • Participate in inpatient consults and outpatient clinics.
  • Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical and surgical settings.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including clinical research and publications.
  • Contribute to departmental initiatives in quality improvement and multidisciplinary collaboration.
