Join us as a Urologist at the Fargo, ND VA Medical Center. Duties may include but are not limited to: Provide clinical urology services including evaluating and treating patients in a Urological outpatient daily. Providing consults to patients, coordinating referrals when necessary, cystoscopies, surgeries, and other related urology procedures and basic urological care. Make patient rounds for Urological patients Perform cystoscopies, vasectomies, scrotal surgeries, ureteroscopies, transurethral surgeries for prostate disease and bladder cancer. Expected to perform lymphatic major procedures, urethra procedures, abdominal major procedures, I&D prostatic abscess, prostrate procedures, ureter major procedures, epididymis and spermatic cord procedures, bladder procedures, kidney major procedures, penis procedures, scrotum procedures, testes procedures, endoscopy procedures, utilize holmium laser, ESWL, and perform fluoroscopy. Period of Performance: 1-year base period 3/17/2026-3/16/2027 w/ two 12-month renewal options through 3/16/2029. Schedule: Full-time, 7:30A-4P Mon-Fri clinic hours. Schedules can vary. Not to exceed 40 hours per week. No call, weekends, or federal holidays. Qualifications: Education. Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. Licensure and certification. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. BC/BE by the American Board of Urology (ABU). BLS, ACLS, or equivalent and DEA required. Experience. Technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government’s requirements. English Language Proficiency: In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English. Subject to background/security investigation. All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA. Ability to pass pre-employment physical examination. Complete an online onboarding process. May be required to complete a probationary period. Willingness to comply with Department of Veterans Affairs vaccination programs for seasonal influenza and COVID-19. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. Must be authorized to work in the United States.
