The Regional General Transportation Manager provides strategic leadership for transportation operations across a multi‑facility regional network. This role ensures safe, reliable, and cost‑effective movement of freight by overseeing fleet readiness, asset management, supplier performance, and transportation execution while driving continuous improvement and risk mitigation. The position partners closely with distribution centers, transportation teams, suppliers, and Home Office stakeholders to improve service levels, reduce cost, manage disruptions, and strengthen network resilience. What You’ll Do Lead regional transportation operations, ensuring on‑time execution, safety, and compliance across the network. Oversee fleet readiness and asset lifecycle management, including maintenance, utilization, and total cost of ownership. Drive exception and risk management, ensuring preparedness for disruptions, escalations, and emergency events. Use data, analytics, and digital tools to identify performance gaps, optimize routing, and improve transportation efficiency. Lead continuous improvement initiatives, applying lean principles and end‑to-end costing to reduce waste and cost. Ensure strong safety and regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal requirements. Manage supplier and carrier relationships, including audits, scorecards, escalations, and performance improvement plans. Partner cross‑functionally with Supply Chain, Distribution, Merchandising, and Technology teams to align transportation strategy with business goals. Develop and execute regional business plans that balance cost, service, and long‑term sustainability. Build, develop, and retain high‑performing transportation leaders and teams. Support sustainability initiatives, community engagement, and associate well-being across the region.
