About The Position

Overview: Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines. Job Description Summary: Performs skilled work in the maintenance, repair, and installation of various building systems and equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy and position-specific requirements.
  • Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.
  • Two years of commercial experience, required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification from a trade program, preferred.
  • Miscellaneous installation or repair certifications from vendors, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs repair tasks on related to the building shell and all systems integrated in that shell.
  • Conducts routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Maintains systems as required by regulatory agencies.
  • Responds to work orders and service requests in a timely and efficient manner, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and importance.
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment and system malfunctions, identifying root causes and recommending appropriate solutions.
  • Collaborates with other stakeholders and outside vendors.
  • Maintains accurate records of work performed, including parts used, labor hours, and other relevant information.
  • Maintains stock, inventory, and orders materials.
  • Adheres to all safety protocols and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following established procedures for hazardous materials handling and disposal.
