General Technician is a mid-level maintenance position responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment and facility systems. This position works independently on routine maintenance and repairs and assists with more complex mechanical and facility projects. The Technician is expected to have solid mechanical skills and general facility maintenance experience including plumbing, basic electrical, and building repairs. Requirements

  • High school diploma or technical/vocational training
  • 3 to 5 years experience in mechanical or facilities maintenance
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience in general facility maintenance (plumbing, electrical, building repair)
  • Ability to read basic technical manuals and drawings
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of HVAC systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment and machinery
  • Troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, valves, and other mechanical equipment
  • Inspect equipment and identify mechanical issues or potential failures
  • Assist with installation and replacement of mechanical equipment and components
  • Maintain maintenance logs and service records
  • Perform general building repairs including doors, locks, walls, ceilings, flooring, and fixtures
  • Complete basic plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks, replacing faucets, repairing toilets, and clearing drains
  • Perform basic electrical work such as replacing light fixtures, switches, outlets, and breakers
  • Assist with HVAC maintenance and filter replacement
  • Perform painting, minor carpentry, and general facility upkeep
  • Support facility inspections and safety checks
  • Respond to maintenance work orders and emergency repair requests
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and workshop in safe and clean condition
  • Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times
  • Work independently or as part of a maintenance team
  • Assist Technician I when needed and support Technician III or supervisors on larger projects
  • Other duties assigned by management.
