General Skilled Laborer - Asphalt, Base, Milling
About The Position
As a Field Laborer, you’ll support our paving and construction crews with a variety of hands-on tasks in the field. This role is essential to keeping each jobsite running safely, smoothly, and efficiently. You’ll work outdoors on roads, parking lots, driveways, and commercial sites, assisting with material handling, site preparation, clean-up, and general crew support. You’ll be part of a hardworking, team-oriented crew that takes pride in delivering quality results. Construction experience is preferred for this role, and candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test as part of the hiring process.
Requirements
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures in a fast-paced outdoor environments
- Must be physically fit and able to lift 50+ lbs
- Willingness to follow instructions and work as part of a crew
- Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends during the season
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience with asphalt paving or construction preferred
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist paving and construction crews with daily field operations
- Perform general labor tasks including shoveling, raking, sweeping, and site clean-up
- Load, unload, and move materials, tools, and equipment as directed
- Support site preparation activities, including setting up work areas and maintaining safe traffic patterns
- Operate basic hand tools and small equipment (with training as needed)
- Follow instructions from the Foreman, Superintendent, and crew leads
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite at all times
- Adhere to all ADCCO safety policies, PPE requirements, and OSHA guidelines
- Assist with measuring, marking, and basic layout tasks as needed
- Communicate effectively with crew members to ensure efficient workflow
- Perform physical labor in varying weather conditions and on active worksites
- Report equipment issues, hazards, or unsafe conditions immediately
