About The Position

This position, General Service & Quality Control Technician, is responsible for ensuring a positive customer experience through thorough Quality Control Inspections and performing a broad spectrum of automotive repairs and maintenance, including suspension, tire, alignment, brake, and general fluid services, as well as auto estimating. The role demands exceptional customer service, efficient use of mechanical expertise, and collaborative teamwork to meet service deadlines while adhering to dealership quality and safety standards. Secondary duties involve driving the company van for parts procurement and customer shuttles, assisting with specific vehicle services as directed by the Shop Foreman or Manager, and performing general shop maintenance tasks. Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of passenger automobiles in order to identify components in engine compartment and undercarriage for the purpose of checking repairs.
  • Skilled in basic automotive repair skills such as how to change a tire, or how to change oil.
  • Ability to get into and out of a vehicle without assistance, including ability to operate/drive a vehicle.
  • Must possess a valid US Driver's License and ability to drive with passengers.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs without assistance.
  • Ability to perform physical maneuvers for various tasks in the shop, such as sweeping, pushing a floor cleaning machine, reaching high and low with hands/arms, and other full body movements as needed to complete job.
  • Skilled and able to interact with customers in a professional manner for the purpose of answering general customer questions in person and completing shuttle rides.
  • Skilled and able to read/write english on a computer and on paper.
  • Skilled and able to perform basic counting and math.
  • Ability to perform major and fine motor skill movements in the process of using various tools and techniques for the purpose of repairing and servicing vehicles.
  • Mechanic experience.
  • Basic computer and internet literacy.
  • Relocate to Irwindale, CA 91706 before starting work (Required).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a great customer experience by performing the shops Quality Control Inspection process.
  • Perform a wide range of automotive repairs and maintenance tasks, including suspension work, tire service, alignments, brake service, general fluid services and auto estimating.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer concerns and ensuring their satisfaction.
  • Utilize mechanical knowledge and expertise to efficiently complete service requests.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and team members to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Adhere to dealership standards and guidelines for quality and safety.
  • Driving Company van to pick up parts and shuttle customers as needed.
  • Completing Specific Services and Repairs on customer’s vehicles with excellence and precision as directed by Shop Foreman or Manager to assist with service levels.
  • Read manufacturer's drawings and manuals.
  • Operate a variety of hand, power, and shop tools.
  • Keep shop equipment operating (maintain, troubleshoot, repair, etc.).
  • Drive manual transmission vehicles.
