Production General Service
About The Position
At our plant in Pryor, OK we are looking for a General Service Operator. The General Service Production Operator is responsible for performing various laborer activities, assisting production and maintenance personnel with troubleshooting of equipment. Notifying Area Operator and/or Shift Supervisor of equipment or process issues, You will also operate heavy equipment (forklift, loader, etc), to support of business activities and continuously looking for improvement opportunities, and fostering an atmosphere of continuous improvement to drive increased reliability and gained efficiencies. This position reports into the Production Shift Supervisor and works with multiple levels at the site to ensure cooperation and coordination of all departments to meet production requirements.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- High level of safety awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions, stand for extended periods of time, lift up to 50lbs and climb heights.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a manufacturing facility an asset.
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment (forklift, loader, etc) an asset.
Responsibilities
- Follow safety protocols, work instructions and guidelines within the production department to ensure that all activities comply with relevant industry regulations and standards.
- Operate heavy equipment (forklift, loader, etc).
- Carry out various laborer tasks (lifting, pulling, shoveling, carrying and other manual tasks).
- Assist production and maintenance crews with tasks as required in the plant.
- Use computerized maintenance management system to enter work orders.
- Assists assistant operator with troubleshooting the process to maintain required operating conditions.
- Participates in scheduled safety meetings and completes safety training requirements.
- Reports any abnormal conditions (safety, process, mechanical) to Area Operator and/or Shift Supervisor.
- Keeps work area safe and clean.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
