The General Sales Manager is responsible for leading the dealership’s sales operations to achieve volume, gross profit and guest satisfaction objectives. This role provides strategic hands-on leadership across new and preowned sales, desking, inventory management and sales staff performance. Requirements

  • Proven experience in automotive dealership leadership
  • Strong understanding of dealership sales operations, desking, inventory management and Finance processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.
  • Solid business acumen with the ability to analyze financial and operational data.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and decision-making skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with BMW strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop Sales Managers, Floor Managers and sales staff to achieve sales volume, gross profit and CSI targets.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, monitor results and address gaps through coaching, training and accountability.
  • Ensure consistent execution of structured sales process, including lead management, test drives and negotiations.
  • Promote the company’s guest experience culture with professionalism and a focus on creating long-term guest relationships; ensure all sales practices align with company standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the General Manager and department leaders to align sales goals with overall dealership objectives.
  • Review and analyze sales reports, KPIs and forecasts to drive data-driven decisions.
