About The Position

Holman, a family-owned global automotive services organization, is seeking a General Sales Manager for Princeton BMW. This role involves developing and implementing sales strategies to achieve dealership goals, leading and managing the sales team (including hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluation), and analyzing market trends and sales data to forecast sales and develop action plans. The General Sales Manager will also oversee inventory, ensure excellent customer service, continuously improve sales processes, manage budgets and profitability, and plan promotional activities. Compliance with all relevant laws and industry standards is also a key responsibility. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5+ years’ experience, including 2+ at a leadership level
  • Experience in automotive sales, preferably in a dealership setting
  • Strong understanding of sales techniques, customer relationship management, and automotive industry
  • Financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and profit analysis
  • Familiarity with automotive industry regulations, such as state laws governing sales practices and dealership operations
  • Breadth and depth of technical or functional expertise in own area of responsibility or department; may be acquiring knowledge of other related areas of departments
  • Developing and implementing processes, methods, and tools to increase efficiency and accuracy

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve dealership goals and targets.
  • Lead and manage the sales team, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluation.
  • Analyze market trends, sales data, and dealership performance to forecast sales and develop action plans.
  • Oversee inventory levels, including ordering and stocking vehicles to meet customer demand and maximize profitability.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and manage customer relationships to drive repeat business and referrals.
  • Continuously improve sales processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor and manage sales budgets, expenses, and profitability to achieve financial targets.
  • Plan and execute promotional activities, marketing campaigns, and advertising initiatives to drive sales and increase brand awareness.
  • Ensure dealership operations comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Track sales performance metrics, analyze data, and generate reports to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned
