About The Position

This position is for a Communications Technician specializing in supporting General Officer/Flag Officer communications. The role requires expertise in installing, configuring, and maintaining various IT systems, including operating system workstations, software packages, NIPR & SIPR devices, Trusted Thin Clients, and SVOIP devices. The technician will also be responsible for troubleshooting, managing access, and maintaining documentation. Requirements

  • 2 or more years’ experience with installing, configuring, and maintaining operating system workstations in support of business processing requirements
  • 2 or more years’ experience with software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages
  • 2 or more years’ experience with scheduling installations and upgrades and maintaining them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures
  • 2 or more years’ experience with imaging NIPR & SIPR devices to achieve optimum performance levels
  • Experience installing, uninstalling and troubleshooting Trusted Thin Clients (TTC) and a basic understanding of a virtual environment
  • 2 or more years’ experience with developing and maintaining a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation
  • 2 or more years’ experience with maintaining a continuous monitoring effort for all incident and service request to ensure a continuous improvement environment for quality of service
  • 2 or more years’ experience with contacting customers to provide real time updates regarding incident and/or service request(s)
  • 2 or more years’ experience with maintained access to NIPR, SIPR workstations, and all additional programs used to assist the N & NC users
  • 2 or more years’ experience with knowledge of DoD Mailbox provisioning using DOD Enterprise Provisioning Online (DEPO)
  • 2 or more years’ experience with administrative privileges and experience using Active Directory such as creating, moving and deleting users and computers
  • 2 or more years’ experience with configuring, imaging, troubleshooting and utilizing Commercial Solution for Classified Solutions (CSFC) devices
  • 2 or more years’ experience with installing, configuring & provisioning SVOIP devices through a call manager
  • 2 or more years’ experience with resolving technical issues through a remote access capability
  • 2 or more years’ experience with familiarization with Xerox & HP printers to include Print Management functions
