About The Position

Overview: General Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing company vehicles and equipment. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques. Repair and rebuild defective components, including engines, transmissions, differentials, hydraulic systems, and electrical components. Fabricate and repair metal parts as needed. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed. Perform maintenance on company vehicles/machinery/equipment, which include oil changes, inspections, and other routine checks. Repair company vehicles/machinery/equipment. Maintain company tools, machinery, and equipment to ensure proper use. Ensure the practice of safety standards in accordance with company policies and OSHA. Operate a service truck when needed. Perform all other duties as assigned. Any other tasks as assigned by the Shop Manager

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional technical training in mechanics, equipment maintenance, or related fields preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in equipment/vehicle maintenance and mechanical repair.
  • Hands‑on mechanical aptitude and experience reading equipment manuals, schematics, or technical diagrams.
  • Must have basic hand tools up to ½" drive.
  • Ability to read and understand Service Manuals.
  • Ability to use or learn to use diagnostic software.
  • Competent with computers, including email and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Willing and able to obtain and maintain a Swank Driver File, including a PennDOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (Medical Card)
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, MVR check, and background check

Nice To Haves

  • Class 7 Inspection License
  • Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement
  • Knowledge of Welding and Fabrication
  • Able to operate and work on various different types of equipment and trucks.
