About The Position

Avion Hospitality is excited to transition the Hyatt Place Nashville/Opryland under new management as of January 1st. We are seeking a strong, people-focused General Manager to lead this hotel into its next chapter with a culture rooted in Trust, Transparency, and Results. This role is ideal for an experienced hotel leader who thrives in change environments, builds high-performing teams, and drives financial and guest-experience excellence through disciplined operations and authentic leadership. The General Manager is responsible for overall hotel performance, with a continual focus on profitability through revenue generation, cost control, guest satisfaction, and employee development—while maintaining the integrity of the hotel and full compliance with Avion Hospitality and brand standards. We empower leaders to take ownership, build teams, and drive performance while creating environments where people feel supported, heard, and inspired.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years of progressive hotel experience, or:
  • 4-year degree with 4–5 years of related experience, or
  • 2-year degree with 5–6 years of related experience
  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems, spreadsheets, and word-processing software.
  • Valid driver’s license for the applicable state.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all guest and employee interactions with professionalism, warmth, and a service-oriented mindset.
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture aligned with Avion Hospitality’s values.
  • Maintain regular attendance and flexible scheduling based on hotel operational needs.
  • Uphold all grooming, uniform, and name-tag standards per brand and company expectations.
  • Ensure all employees are treated fairly and equitably in accordance with Avion Hospitality SOPs.
  • Maintain open lines of communication across all departments.
  • Oversee all hotel operations to ensure safe, efficient, and guest-focused performance.
  • Tour operating departments daily and address operational opportunities with department leaders.
  • Ensure consistent service-standards training in all departments using Avion Hospitality’s steps-to-effective-training model.
  • Inspect guest rooms regularly (weekly minimum) with the Housekeeping Manager and Property Engineer.
  • Maintain cleanliness, maintenance, and asset protection through inspections and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Maintain visible presence in public areas during peak periods to engage guests and support teams.
  • Partner with the Director of Sales to conduct daily ATOM meetings focused on prospecting activity and revenue outcomes.
  • Play an active role in hotel sales efforts, including: Calling on top accounts Hosing client meetings, luncheons, and receptions Meeting on-site contacts daily, weekly, and monthly
  • Support revenue-generation strategies and market positioning.
  • Meet all corporate financial review deadlines and required reporting timelines.
  • Hold monthly financial reviews with department heads and supervisors.
  • Ensure department productivity aligns with budgeted expectations.
  • Oversee checkbook accounting procedures and invoice processing through the A/P system.
  • Ensure timely submission of all financial documentation to the Corporate Office per the accounting calendar.
  • Forecast monthly financial performance, including revenue and line-by-line expenses; analyze trends and prepare accurate reforecasts.
  • Assist in development and execution of the annual budget process.
  • Recruit, interview, and approve final candidates for all hotel positions prior to offer extension.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for department managers and ensure compliance with appraisal standards.
  • Coach, counsel, and discipline management staff per Avion Hospitality SOPs.
  • Develop managers for future advancement through competency-based training and corporate programs.
  • Maintain direct oversight of management trainees and their development.
  • Ensure compliance with all Avion Hospitality policies, procedures, and required certifications, including: Food Handlers Alcohol Awareness CPR & First Aid
  • Participate in required Manager-on-Duty (MOD) coverage.
