About The Position

Responsible for the growth, leadership, and management of the Territory. Performs business development and marketing activities, including planning and strategy for the territory. Is entrepreneurial and innovative in growing the territory. Researches and develops client contacts to identify and prioritize potential customers. Assists in developing objectives and strategies in support of overall corporate business development goals. The General Manager will build and manage a team that adheres to ISEC’s core values, and delivers the highest level of customer service and financial results

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or the equivalent combination of education and related commercial construction experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years commercial construction experience with 5 years in a leadership position.

Responsibilities

  • Participate with the RM/VP and other members of senior management team in the development and implementation of short-term and long-term goals, strategies, and business plans.
  • Attend senior management meetings.
  • Prepare overhead budgets for territory.
  • Manager overhead budgets and report to RM/VP monthly.
  • Manage the territory office. Provide a safe and positive office environment for employees.
  • Define territory staffing strategy to ensure manpower needs are met.
  • Update Organizational chart monthly.
  • Provide weekly long range installation schedule.
  • Responsible overall for hiring, firing, evaluating, promoting, and compensating territory personnel.
  • Report all referenced actions prior to initiating.
  • Prepare and execute yearly performance evaluations of all staff.
  • Engage RM/VP in all personnel issues and conflicts.
  • Develop territory leadership team, oversee development of professional and field staff.
  • Involve RM/VP in all interviews associated with leadership team.
  • Prepare training plan for development of all employees – share monthly.
  • Define and oversee strategy for growth through innovative expansion of scope.
  • Prepare revenue and profit projections as requested.
  • Identify, pursue, build and strengthen relationships with key contacts.
  • Report on quarterly basis.
  • Analyze projects to determine strategic value.
  • Share strategy with RM/VP prior to bidding a project.
  • Guide sales team in bidding projects to meet annual order and profit goals.
  • Oversee client and customer development, maintain current owner, contractor and architectural accounts. Generate new business with target customers and locate new construction opportunities.
  • Report on quarterly basis.
  • Establish and meet or exceed overall sales goal, ship and bill goals, and profit goals annually; manage against department overhead accounts.
  • Create and implement tracking system to manage and communicate sales and profit against goals.
  • Oversee execution of marketing efforts, trade shows, mailers, advertising, regional brochures with support from Denver Administrative support.
  • Update RM/VP monthly off all efforts associated with defined responsibility.
  • Oversee purchasing process, vendor selections and outsource procurement. Monitor update meetings for new projects and assist the PCS Manager or Operations Manager as necessary. Ensure all Vendor Contracts, Bond and Insurance Certificates are pursued to resolution.
  • Distribute all purchasing meeting minutes to RM/VP.
  • Oversee engineering process.
  • Oversee estimating process.
  • Execute customer contracts.
  • Copy RM/VP on all contracts.
  • Participate in Quarterly Division Reviews.
  • Prepare sales projections, profit projections, and hit list for territory.
  • Drive Positive Cash Flow performance on projects.
  • Distribute cash flow report to RM/VP monthly.
  • Monitor Accounts Receivable to ensure timely payments in accordance with contract terms.
  • Report AR’s exceeding 30 days to RM/VP monthly.
  • Responsible for resolution on conflicts with Contractor, Suppliers, etc. Involve attorney as required.
  • Notify RM/VP of required attorney involvement.
  • Ensure ISEC’s commitments to Core Values are maintained throughout the construction process.
  • Complete and distribute customer surveys for all completed projects.
  • Effectively communicate and implement the Company’s safety policies and procedures committed to the Safety Promise. The General Manager may adopt more stringent rules with consultation of the Safety Department.
  • Establish an environment of “zero tolerance” for safety non-compliance and promote a positive atmosphere for safety Excellence.
  • Ensure an accident-free region through managing of the safety program including full implementation of the Safety Leadership Team.
  • Provide the resources and time necessary to execute the required actions in safety on projects. Ensure all employees in the region follow and implement ISEC safety requirements.
