About The Position

As General Manager, you will have full accountability for the overall performance and strategic direction of Medeco Security Locks. Medeco’s business is rooted in delivering high-security solutions that meet demanding market, regulatory, and customer requirements. The General Manager ensures the organization is positioned for sustainable growth by balancing market insight, world class customer service, innovative new products, operational excellence, and disciplined execution. In addition to full responsibility for manufacturing and operations, the role includes oversight of Medeco OEM and International sales, Domestic Business Development, Product Management and New Product Development Functions, working through those respective leaders/direct reports, and in close coordination with ASSA ABLOY’s DSS and other sales organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of senior leadership experience in a manufacturing-based business with full P&L accountability or equivalent enterprise responsibility.
  • Demonstrated success leading leaders of leaders in complex, technical, or regulated product environments.
  • Strong market and customer acumen, with experience engaging directly with strategic customers and partners.
  • Proven ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on involvement in key initiatives and decision-making.
  • Strong executive presence, communication, and influence skills within a matrixed, global organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Business : Provide overall leadership and accountability for Medeco Security Locks, driving performance in growth, profitability, quality, delivery, and customer satisfaction.
  • Shape Strategy : Develop, communicate, and execute a clear business and market strategy that aligns operations, product development, sales, and business development through strong leadership and governance.
  • Inspire Teams : Guide and support functional leaders across Customer Experience, Business Development, Product Management, Product Development, Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Supply Chain, and Operations—ensuring alignment, accountability, and effective cross-functional collaboration.
  • Engage Customers : Maintain active, hands-on involvement with key customers, OEM partners, and strategic accounts while empowering sales leadership to manage day-to-day commercial activities.
  • Drive Innovation : Partner closely with Product Management, Product Development, and Business Development leaders to ensure products, programs, and initiatives meet evolving customer and market needs.
  • Optimize Operations : Ensure manufacturing and operational strategies deliver business objectives with a focus on quality, continuous improvement, reliability, and scalability.
  • Champion Culture : Lead by example to foster a culture of customer focus, continuous improvement, and accountability—reinforcing ASSA ABLOY values and expectations.
  • Ensure Financial Discipline : Oversee budgets, capital deployment, and operating practices to maintain financial stewardship in alignment with company objectives.
  • Proactively Improve : Identify organizational issues, risks, and trends; recommend and implement actions to enhance business effectiveness and performance.
  • Build Leadership Capability : Develop and sustain a strong leadership bench through succession planning, organizational effectiveness, and employee engagement.
  • Represent Medeco : Act as a key leader within the High Security Group and the broader ASSA ABLOY organization, contributing to global initiatives and strategic alignment.
