We are seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager to lead all operations of our light assembly manufacturing facility. This is a high-impact leadership role with responsible for the plant operations and budget. The General Manager will act as the company's direct representative on-site, driving operational excellence, profitability, and on-time delivery while overseeing approximately 60–80 employees (direct and indirect) across multiple departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, with at least 5 years as a Plant Manager or General Manager in light assembly, plastics, metal finishing/plating, or similar high-mix/low-to-medium volume environments.
  • Proven track record managing Manufacturing and Warehousing operations simultaneously.
  • Strong P&L ownership experience.
  • Demonstrated success hitting aggressive budgets, improving cost metrics, and delivering year-over-year productivity gains.
  • Deep knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and modern planning/MRP/ERP systems.
  • Exceptional leadership and people-development skills; able to build accountability and morale in a multi-shift operation.
  • Excellent communication skills—able to interact confidently with shop floor employees, senior leadership, and customers.
  • Willingness to be on-site 5 days/week and available for occasional weekend/off-shift support during critical production periods.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for the entire plant, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are consistently achieved or exceeded.
  • Directly supervise and develop the following department leaders who report to you: Manufacturing Manager – Plating Manufacturing Manager – Injection Molding Manufacturing Manager – Assembly Warehouse / Logistics Manager Planning / Scheduling Team
  • Own full operating budget responsibility; develop, monitor, and achieve annual operating budget, capital expenditures, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Establish, track, and deliver aggressive production goals (output, OTD, yield, scrap/rework reduction, labor efficiency).
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen events, 5S, value-stream mapping) to drive productivity and eliminate waste.
  • Ensure the production planning and scheduling team delivers accurate master schedules, optimal inventory levels, and rapid response to customer demand changes.
  • Champion a strong safety culture and maintain OSHA-compliant operations with world-class safety metrics.
  • Oversee quality systems and drive defect reduction and customer PPM goals.
  • Manage capital projects, equipment maintenance, and any facility upgrades.
  • Develop talent, conduct performance reviews, succession planning, and build a high-performance leadership team.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for customer issues, supplier performance, and any major operational disruptions.
  • Prepare and present monthly operations reviews to company management, including KPI dashboards, financial performance, and forward-looking risks/opportunities.
