About The Position

The General Manager is responsible for leading the overall operations, performance, and team culture of the dispensary. This role oversees daily retail operations, ensures strict compliance with company and state regulations, and delivers an exceptional patient experience. The General Manager hires, develops, and supports team members while maintaining high standards of service, product knowledge, and operational efficiency. This leader works closely with ownership to drive store performance, manage inventory and financial results, and maintain a clean, organized, and compliant retail environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can balance operational oversight, team development, and customer experience while staying informed on cannabis products, industry trends, and regulatory requirements. Role Overview: Provides a wonderful experience for the patient. Advises patients on suitable cannabis products based on their needs, preferences, budgets, and reactions to different strains of cannabis. Keeps abreast of new cannabis products on the market as well as the latest industry trends. Processes patient’s payments using the dispensary's Point of Sale (POS) system. Ensures that the store is clean and well-organized at all times. Ensures company policies and procedures are followed. Hires, trains, and supports new employees. Resolve customer issues. Provides leadership and direction to all employees. Works closely with ownership to ensure stores are profitable and reputable. Ensures an excellent standard of customer service is upheld. Maintains the store to high standards, includes stocking products and regular cleaning. Completes tasks assigned by the ownership accurately and efficiently. Takes inventory of cannabis products and ensures that the sales floor is adequately stocked. Maintains compliance by following the proper policies and procedures set by the company and the state. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or can substitute experience for degree
  • Two to four years of experience working as an AGM or GM in a dispensary
  • Ability to pass a background check and receive a facility agent card from the state
  • Sound knowledge of cannabis strains and their medicinal benefits
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Work well with other team-members
  • Be self-motivated and possess the desire for self-development
  • Ability to work autonomously when required
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail space
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
