The Cottonwood Hotel , managed by Davidson Hospitality Group, is seeking an accomplished General Manager with high energy, strong commercial instincts, and a passion for creating unforgettable guest experiences rooted in community and culture. This is not a traditional hotel GM role. We’re looking for a visionary yet disciplined operator who can balance commercial strategy, ownership relations, and operational excellence —while positioning the Cottonwood as Omaha’s cultural hub for locals and travelers alike. Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of successful General Manager experience in a full-service or lifestyle hotel
  • Lifestyle hotel experience is required (boutique, experiential, design-forward environments)
  • Proven ability to balance commercial acumen with operational discipline
  • Strong ownership-relations experience with a track record of delivering results
  • A visible, charismatic leader who naturally connects with guests, team members, and the local community
  • Passion for food & beverage, experiential programming, and placemaking
  • Data-driven mindset paired with creativity and bold decision-making

Nice To Haves

  • IHG or Kimpton experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for a high-profile lifestyle hotel
  • Drive top-line revenue growth through strong commercial strategy, market positioning, and disciplined execution
  • Oversee all hotel operations including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Sales & Marketing, Finance, and People & Culture
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with ownership , delivering transparent communication and consistent results
  • Champion a service culture that reflects Kimpton’s personality—bold, human, inclusive, and guest-obsessed
  • Unite the local community behind the hotel by creating experiences, partnerships, and programming that make the Cottonwood a true neighborhood gathering place
  • Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing executive team and hotel staff
  • Ensure operational discipline, brand standards, and financial accountability across the property
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and guest insights to keep the hotel relevant and ahead of the curve
