About The Position

The General Manager is the senior leader of the EDCOAT New Carlisle coil coating facility. This full-time, exempt position reports directly to the President/CEO and carries full responsibility for the plant’s operational, financial, and cultural performance. The General Manager owns the full P&L accountability and is responsible for driving profitable growth, operational excellence, superior customer service, employee engagement, and long-term sustainability of the facility. This individual serves as the visible leader of the plant and is responsible for establishing EDCOAT as an employer of choice in the New Carlisle area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university (Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related field preferred)
  • 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience
  • Demonstrated success leading a manufacturing facility with full P&L accountability, knowing what “good looks like”

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in coil coating, roll forming, metals processing, or similar industrial environment preferred, but not required
  • Prior experience in running a 24/7 manufacturing facility is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Full P&L ownership including revenue growth, cost control, margin performance, capital planning, and EBITDA targets.
  • Development and execution of annual operating plans and long-term strategic initiatives.
  • Oversight of production operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality coil coating output.
  • Leadership of quality systems to ensure consistent, sound, and customer-focused product performance.
  • Build a high-performing leadership team that consistently applies root-cause problem solving to eliminate performance gaps and ensure sustainable results
  • Oversight of maintenance and reliability programs to maximize uptime and equipment performance.
  • Direct shipping and receiving operations to ensure on-time delivery and logistical efficiency.
  • Oversight of customer service to ensure responsiveness, professionalism, and strong customer relationships.
  • Oversee company Sales to support market expansion, pricing strategy, forecasting, and profitable growth.
  • Partner with human resources team on functions including workforce planning, employee engagement, performance management, training and talent development.
  • Oversight of plant-level administrative and financial controls to ensure compliance and fiscal responsibility.
  • Leadership of safety programs to maintain a safe and injury-free working environment.
  • Oversight of environmental compliance and adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Promotion of continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity, reduce scrap, improve quality, and optimize processes.
  • Development of leadership capability across all departments through coaching, accountability, and succession planning.
  • Building and maintaining a culture of engagement, accountability, respect, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ensuring transparent communication of company goals, plant performance metrics, and expectations throughout the organization.
  • Representing EDCOAT within the coil coating industry, community, and trade associations to strengthen brand reputation and market presence.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and corporate and EDCOAT leadership.
  • Providing timely and accurate operational and financial reporting to the President/CEO.
