About The Position

Turf Hotels, Inc. seeks a hands-on, energetic General Manager for the Homewood Suites Albany to drive profitability, guest satisfaction, and team development. This leadership role oversees all hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, maintenance, and sales, ensuring brand standards, financial success, and asset protection.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Hotel General Manager, Director of Operations, or Assistant General Manager (3+ years preferred).
  • Fluency in English.
  • Energetic, experienced, hands-on, and highly engaged leadership style.
  • Experience managing Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Sales departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and mentor diverse teams.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand/sit for extended periods.

  • Fluency in Spanish
  • 2- or 4-year college degree

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily hotel operations by coordinating department heads to optimize workflows, improve efficiency, and ensure seamless guest services.
  • Maintain high-quality standards for cleanliness and preventive maintenance.
  • Conduct daily property walk-throughs to ensure compliance with brand standards, safety protocols, and operational SOPs.
  • Maximize P&L performance through yield management, top-line sales strategies, labor productivity, and strict cost controls.
  • Cultivate a positive, high-performing culture by interviewing, hiring, training, mentoring, and disciplining managers and associates, aiding in their personal development goals.
  • Maintain transparent communication with team members, ownership, and corporate partners.
  • Foster inter-departmental collaboration to meet shared goals.
  • Ensure all areas of the hotel adhere to accounting standards and financial controls.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the premises to verify compliance with safety, security, and quality assurance standards.
  • Proactively resolve escalated guest concerns.
  • Oversee the guest experience programs to maximize online reputation and satisfaction scores.
