About The Position

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a manufacturing plant, including production, quality control, safety, maintenance, and personnel, ensuring efficient operations, meeting production targets, and maintaining compliance with industry standards while leading a team of department heads and staff, all while strategizing for continuous improvement and cost optimization; key duties include setting production goals, managing budgets, implementing quality control measures, coordinating with supply chain, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, production techniques, and quality control methodologies.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, build consensus, and create a positive work environment.
  • Capability to develop and execute strategic plans to achieve long-term business objectives.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Understanding of financial statements and budgeting principles to manage costs effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders including senior management, employees, and external vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production runs smoothly and meets established timelines and quality standards.
  • Develop and execute production plans, manage inventory levels, and optimize production schedules to meet customer demands.
  • Implement and maintain robust quality control systems to ensure product quality and minimize defects.
  • Monitor and manage production costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Lead and develop a team of department heads including maintenance, engineering, quality assurance, and production supervisors.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and procedures, promoting a culture of safety within the plant.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, productivity, and reduce waste.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring cost control and profitability.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable industry regulations and standards.
